- hello! I'm Pastel, and The Aperture Record is my brainchild fanfic that keeps expanding infinitely outward the more I work on it. this is a passion project based off my love for both House of Leaves (a long-time interest) and Portal (a very recently acquired interest!). this was initially going to be posted to Ao3 as usual, but I thought with the unique formatting I want to do, I might as well go all out and make a dedicated website for it, right? so here it is! i hope you enjoy ^3^ < 3

as is probably obvious, The Aperture Record is a Portal fanfic deeply inspired by Mark Z. Danielewski's book House of Leaves. I would classify this as a crossover fic, though I'm not sure how accurate that is - none of the characters in House of Leaves appear within, it's solely focused on the events of Portal, but the structure of the plot and narrative elements are very clearly derived from the book. that being said... reader beware! anybody who doesn't want to be spoiled on elements of House of Leaves, this one probably isn't for you!
